Book Blitz: Jenny's Blue Velvet by Angela Carlie

Author: Angela Carlie
Publication date: August 22nd 2013
Genre: Adult Romantic Thriller

Jenny’s stuck.

She’s tried just about every occupation she can think of and will be digging out of student debt for a very long time, but has nothing to show for it. Her everyday routine feels like a prison. And her marriage? Well, let’s just say it’s been a little one-sided lately and the money she threw down on the toys from Lover’s Erotic Store was well worth it and then some.

Jenny decides her next big step is to become a romance writer. Romance books are flying off the virtual shelves, after all. This will be her big break, her escape from the prison, and a way to freedom. Self-publishing is all the rage these days. She’ll be a best seller in no time.

When Jenny makes friends with a woman named Cassandra from the gym, she instantly decides that her new friend will make a perfect main character in her upcoming book. After the first chapter, real life begins to resemble the fiction she’s writing. Her friendship blossoms, sex with her husband turns into a daily feast, and her job gets more interesting with each chapter written.

Out of the blue, a person who is a close friend with her husband and who is dating Cassandra disappears. As the mystery behind the missing person unfolds, Jenny wonders if she might be responsible for his possible death. And if she is, what will be the consequence? What has this writing business gotten her into?

JENNY’S BLUE VELVET is a dark, humorous, romantic thriller for adults only

About the Author

Facts about Angela Carlie

I write fiction. I work hard. I play often.

When I'm not pushing a mouse around at a desk job, which is boring, or writing, which is fun, I enjoy hanging out with my fourteen-year-old son and husband, reading, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and running.

Hawaii and Washington are my two favorite states.

I believe that if everyone ate a whole-food plant based diet, cancer cases would be a minimum, heart disease a thing of the past, and hunger something found in history books.

One of my favorite documentaries is Forks Over Knives.

I love hearing about people reading my books, so if you enjoyed one of my stories, please let me know by leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads.

Thank you for spending time with my stories. We don't have much of it and I appreciate that you find my work worthy of your time.

The Boy Next Door
by the NAturals
When your Friday afternoon plans involve being crammed in a half-squat between hanging shirts and pants while stark-freaking-naked, it’s time to reevaluate your life. And I was going to do just that as soon as Derek rescued me from the closet. It had occurred to me before that dating a guy who still lived at home was going to be a problem, but it was hard to be choosy when nearly every guy my age had already taken off to college. I was on the delayed-start plan myself, trying to save up enough money by working temporary and part-time jobs to go away next year. That’s how I’d met Derek and wound up naked in his closet. I had a knack for situations like this. “Make sure you water the rhododendrons every afternoon or they’ll die, and do it today, please.” His mother had been listing all the chores she needed done when she left on her Alaskan cruise in the morning. So far she’d been here for what felt to be an hour. I didn’t actually have a watch. Hello, naked. But I had a cramp in my thigh that was getting worse by the minute, and it felt like I’d achieved a level sixty in discomfort. “And no overnight visitors,” she finished. “Of course, Mom,” Derek said. “Especially not that Natalie girl. I don’t think she’s a good influence.”

Review: Welcome to the Darkness by L.M. Justus

 Welcome to the Darkness

Author: L.M. Justus
Series: Darkness Trilogy, #1
Publication date: August 5th 2013
Genre: YA Paranormal
A typical teenager, seventeen-year-old Reed Hennessy doesn’t realize how lucky he is to lead a normal life until he loses everything, including his humanity. The attacker who slaughters his family and destroys their home turns out to be a vampire, a creature Reed had considered a myth.

Now a vampire himself, but with the unique ability to walk in sunlight, Reed struggles in the dark underworld he didn’t even know existed. His only two allies in his fight to stay alive are his reluctant mentor, Nathaniel, a vampire with over two hundred years’ worth of emotional baggage, and Sarah, a rookie cop with a secret ability of her own.

Together, Reed and his companions face a harrowing, cross-country journey before stumbling into a plot which could mean the end of everything for humans and vampires alike.

Well as an unoffical expert on vampire themed everything especially books. There was nothing out of ordinary. I am not saying that it was bad, just that it wasn't good either. It was so so-so that I cannot describe it completely. The characthers were not shallow but they were not deep also. The problems they encountered were way too easy to solve so it seemed like nothing happened. I believe that for a book to be exciting the writer has to outsmart us. The story has to be clever and it has to keep us wondering. It has to keep us on our toes. It has to be full of suprises. It has to be just like love. Well this wasn't. It was a light read nothing unexcaptable. If you have time you may read it.

Review: Frontline by Alexandra Richland

 Frontline

Author: Alexandra Richland
Release Date: August 6, 2013
Genre: Mystery/Contemporary Romance
Cover designed by: F.S. Meurinne (www.fsmeurinne.com) E-mail: info@fsmeurinne.com

When nurse Sara Peters treats celebrity billionaire Trenton Merrick for a mysterious injury to his forehead, she is blindsided by what follows: A passionate exchange in the examination room, followed by an invitation to Trenton's mansion the next night.

Trenton spins a web of deceit and seduction around Sara that both repels and attracts her. One part humanitarian, the other international financial mogul, his professional and public life are a curious contradiction. As Sara journeys deeper into her feelings for Trenton and begins unraveling the mystery behind his injury, she finds herself embroiled in a game of trust and betrayal, where the odds are stacked in Trenton's favor, and the outcome for the loser is too terrifying to conceive.

First of all I admit that I love a man with determination. A man who knows what he wants and does what it takes to get it. So this is a romance threaded with adventure and mystery. It is so well written that it gets you excited it makes you wonder it makes you read more. I finished it in 2 days and believe me it was hard to give a break to it. I really love the heroine who doesn't fall in love in the first two pages. Desire okay, but love is not that easy. It was definitely well written. Only thing that I didn't like is that she has two best friends he has two best friends and perfectly they like each other too. Come on if it was real life they would be probably hating each other or fighting for the same guy or girl. It was like a child's dream. But it was just a little distraction on my side. Would I read more from this author? Yes, definitely. Would I continue this series? Another yes, after the prequel of the sequel it made me want to read it right away.
