Review: Memory's Wake by Selina Fenech

Memory’s Wake

Author: Selina Fenech
Series: (Memory’s Wake Trilogy #1)
Publication date: June 16th 2011
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

Synopsis:
Lost in a world full of monstrous fairies, a troubled sixteen year old has to find out who she is and why her memories were stolen before she is found by those who want her dead.

She takes the name “Memory” and knows she has just one goal – to find her way home, wherever that is. But this land is strange. No technology to be seen, and iron is banned, thanks to a pact the humans have with the magical creatures who share their pre-industrial era world. In her t-shirt and torn jeans, Memory knows she’s different, even before she performs impossible magic.

Haunted by her past, chased by a dragon, wanted by the king and stalked by the strange, handsome savage that seems to know her, everyone is after Memory, and she suspects it’s not just for her eye-catching outfit. Her forgotten past holds dangerous secrets that will challenge everything she believes and risk the lives of everyone she loves.

Memory’s Wake contains over 45 illustrations by the author and artist.

I relly liked the suspense and the mystery surrounding the story. I was constantly wondering and instead of the answers I was searching for I was constantly being suprised with answers for the questions I haven't even thought of before. It was definitely a good read and I will admit that I enjoyed the illustrations a little too much. They were seriously well drawn and let me tell you the boys are hot and Memory is geourgeous. I waited eagerly for each illustration to come. I finished the book in one day and it worth my time. So go read it. :)

The Red Sector Chronicles by Krystle Jones

The Red Sector Chronicles

Author: Krystle Jones
Genres: Dystopia, Paranormal Romance, Young Adult

The strength of Sloane’s heart is about to be put to the ultimate test.
After the Eclipse – the night vampires began openly slaughtering human victims – everything changed. Out of fear, the government salvaged what remained of the human population and enclosed them in massive, security-laden cities called White Sectors, while marking the vampire infested territory as Red Sectors.

When seventeen-year-old Sloane McAllister’s twin brother disappears, she seems to be the only one who thinks he isn’t dead, and she vows to stop at nothing to find him. Gathering her courage, she braves the Red Sector to search for clues to his whereabouts. By chance, she encounters Aden, a handsome, charismatic vampire with a hidden agenda. He turns Sloane against her will and whisks her away to his underground city. Enemies quickly become friends as Sloane struggles against her attraction to Aden, and resists her growing loyalties to the creatures that ruined her life.

But the vampires themselves are the least of her problems. A war is brewing between the humans and vampires, along with a growing web of deceit and betrayal. And before it’s all over, loyalties will be tested, hearts will be broken, and no one’s lives will ever be the same.

Review: Fall of Darkness by Elle Bright

Title: Fall of Darkness
Author: Elle Bright
Series: The Darkness Chronicles #1
Publication: July 5th, 2013
Category: Adult
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Synopsis:
One woman, the fate of the world in her unknowing hands. One man, sworn to destroy her. A love so strong it defies nature. In a world of obsession, deception and betrayal, the line between good and evil fades, but one truth remains absolute. Darkness must fall.

For centuries, werewolf, Dominic Ridolfi, has battled the demons of the night, upholding the sacred pact to protect man from vampires. Yet when sent to destroy the long lost Cacciatori heiress, the vampire prophesied to free her kind from the curse of darkness, he finds himself reluctant to complete his task. The innocent beauty awakens his humanity and Dominic finds himself not in the role of assassin, but savior.

Swept away in a whirlwind romance, Kate loses herself in Dominic’s mysterious world of opulence and seduction. But Dominic has a secret. He knows the truth about Kate’s past, and her future, truths with the power to destroy them both. Only in her dreams does Kate sense the growing darkness within. Dominic saved her once, but can she save herself from the darkness within?

What would you do if you were in love with the enemy... madly? That's actually an old story right. But what would you do if the enemy was sent to kill you in the first place and you were destined to bring the end for all of them. First of all I wish that there was more descriptions for the characters. Because after more than 300 pages it is still hard for me to imagine Dominic. The book ended like it was cut in half there is lots of unanswered questions so it kinda ticked me off. I like to have all my answers when I finish a book. But I must admit that there was good background info. It was deffinetly sufficent. You might read it but I'm not saying that you should. It was a normal read.
